When the running industry embraced minimalist shoes, I grabbed a pair because I loved going barefoot.
My running-expert brother warned me that I would need to re-learn how to walk. “Duh!” I thought. “I already know how to walk.” NOT! After initial muscle soreness, I fully committed to changing my posture and the way I moved (

The transition was HARD. I had to pay attention constantly to what I was doing, and I messed up a lot – old habits
die slowly. Once I understood the Why and the How, I practiced constantly, and today I walk in a very different way that my body loves. In fact, when I must wear regular shoes for an extended time, old hip and knee issues quickly return.
Any powerful shift requires the same sort of commitment.
If you want to change how you show up as a Leader in the workplace, it will be hard AND you will have moments of
regression. Yet once you “get” the essence of holding a different conversation, you will notice it’s actually painful to return to old habits.
Same with living in more Gratitude, Happiness, and Positivity. Daily practice can feel strange; once changes kick in, however, you’ll be far more aware when fear/anger/sadness show up.
It will be hard… and so worth
it!
