![]() Today is the day. No movie in filmmaking history has pre-sold as many tickets as have been purchased already for Episode VII: The Force Awakens. Millions of people committed to experience a movie about which they know practically nothing: the plot is a mystery, most of the actors are unknowns, and it all takes place a long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away. Such is the power of The Force. What is The Force? **

Do This For Yourself

Like the Force, Leadership is sometimes considered an ancient and irrelevant religion practiced by a very few. Data, that’s what drives the world today. Metrics! Time to ship! Six sigma! Lean thinking! Eliminate waste! People are just resources to be used! Bah and Humbug to that! True leadership comes from a place of inspiration and caring. Like the Force, Leadership is stronger when you connect to the energy in others. In a world where data and technology level any playing field quickly, people are the only competitive advantage. When you lean into collaboration and communication, nurturing the good in others, seeking to strengthen natural talents, and offering inspiration and opportunity to others, you can turbocharge your people and your organization – and they will achieve far more than any of you think is possible. Remember, Leadership is not about a title: Anyone can be a Leader who seeks to leverage the good in others.
