By now you've surely gotten sick of clicking on confirmations to continue your subscriptions to publications you had no idea you were even receiving. May 25 is the big date by which anyone who sends email in the European Union must comply with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
When it comes to Happiness @TheSpeedofLife, you're good.
One of the (in hindsight) best decisions I made in 2008 was to shift to a service provider (AWeber) that insisted I follow a double opt-in process to subscribe you to you my newsletter. That means you had to say "Yes" one
time, then you had to click on a confirmation link to say, "HELL, yes! I really want this!"
What do I collect? I have (one of) your email addresses, and in most cases I have your name. That's it. Nothin' else. Simple.
So you've given permission, you always have the option to leave or update your information (see the UNSUBSCRIBE link that is always at the bottom of my notes) and you have the option to Disappear -- once a month I purge all addresses for anyone who has unsubscribed. Compliance achieved.
Oh and my
policy? I never rent, sell, or in any way share your address. Ever.
So you're safe here. Always have been.
Happy?
If not, please reduce your stress and use the link below to opt out.
You've always had that power, and always will.
